Why weight matters more than for other methods
A plastisol deposit adds weight and stiffness to one area of the shirt. On a light jersey, the fabric around the print corrugates after the first wash — the shirt looks wet and never recovers.
200gsm is the practical floor for a large solid print; 230gsm and above is comfortable. Small left-chest prints are more forgiving on lighter cloth.
Surface: ring-spun versus open-end
Ring-spun yarn gives a smoother surface, so the print edge is cleaner and fine type holds. Open-end yarn is coarser; a fine-line design will lose definition on it.
For large solid areas the difference is negligible; for type under about 10pt it is visible at arm’s length.
What a shop should keep in stock
A working stock of white and black in S–2XL covers most walk-in orders; a small quantity of 3XL covers the rest and prevents the order you cannot fill.
Keeping depth in one weight beats stocking three weights shallowly, because a job either needs your default blank or it needs a sample.
What we hold
23 styles, 14 of them at 230gsm and above, from $3.00. US stock ships domestically in days, which is what same-week orders need.
