Hoodies & Fleece — China Stock
Three fleece styles at 300gsm: a double-sided fleece half-zip, a two-tone brushed fleece zip jacket and a hooded zip. Fleece is the heaviest thing in the warehouse and the one where freight, not the blank, decides the landed cost.

Brushed versus loopback fleece
Brushed fleece has the inner surface raised into a pile — warmer, softer against skin, and more prone to pilling if the yarn is short. Loopback leaves the loops uncut: less warm, more breathable, and it holds shape better through washing.
For a hoodie that will be worn over a t-shirt indoors, loopback is the better call. For cold-climate outerwear or merchandise that has to feel plush, brushed is what buyers expect. The 300gsm double-sided fleece in stock is the plush end.
Zip, half-zip and the parts that fail
The zip is the most common failure point on a fleece. A plastic zip is cheaper and lighter; a metal zip reads more premium and survives more cycles. Whichever is used, the tape colour has to match the body or it becomes a visible stripe.
Second failure point is the pocket. Kangaroo pockets on a heavy fleece need bar-tacks at the corners or they tear at the seam within a season. Third is the hood drawcord: if it is not anchored inside the channel it pulls out on the first wash.
Freight and the landed cost
A 300gsm hoodie is bulky and relatively heavy: cartons fill fast and freight is charged on whichever is greater, actual or volume weight. On a first order, the freight per unit on fleece is often a larger percentage of the landed cost than on t-shirts.
Prices run $3.83–$9.03 FOB depending on the style, zip type and tier. If you are comparing a cheap hoodie with a premium one, compare landed cost per unit at the same quantity, not the FOB number alone.

Hoodies & Fleece: common questions
Is brushed fleece warmer than loopback?
Yes. Brushed has a raised inner pile; loopback is lighter and more breathable.
What fails first on a hoodie?
The zip, then pocket bar-tacks, then the hood drawcord if it is not anchored.
Why is hoodie freight so high?
Fleece is bulky: cartons reach volume weight quickly, so freight per unit is a larger share of landed cost.
