Light fabric, and what it does to print
At 140gsm a light-coloured tank is close to translucent, and a plastisol print on it will read as a patch sitting on thin cloth. The practical options are sublimation (bonds into the fibre with no added weight), a soft-hand water-based print, or a darker body colour.
Opacity also depends on the knit, not just the weight: a tight performance knit at 140gsm hides more than a loose cotton jersey at 180gsm. Ask for the fabric to be held against a light in the sample photo if opacity matters.
Armhole and strap geometry
A tank is defined by its armhole. A deep armhole frees the shoulder but exposes the side seam and any bra strap; a high armhole reads as a gym vest. The strap width follows: narrow straps on a heavy body cut in, wide straps read as workwear.
If the tank is for a team or event, ask for the armhole depth in the spec — it is the measurement that decides whether the garment is wearable for the intended audience.
Price and seasonality
The two styles sit at $2.05–$2.33 FOB — the lowest in the warehouse, because there are no sleeves and the fabric is light. Freight per unit is also low: a carton holds many more tanks than hoodies.
Seasonality is the planning risk. Tanks sell in a narrow window, so ordering late means holding stock into the off-season. If the programme is event-driven, work backward from the event date, not from the season.
