What actually changes between the 14 styles
Three variables do the work: fabric, weight and cut. Fabric runs from 100% cotton and combed cotton through waffle knit and Sorona blend to performance polyester — and each one behaves differently on a print. Weight runs 160–300gsm. Cut runs from a standard retail tee to a boxy couple-fit and a raglan with a split hem.
The practical consequence is that "a blank tee" is not one product. A 160gsm poly performance tee and a 260gsm boxy cotton tee are not substitutes: one is a gym or promotional base, the other is a retail garment with a price of its own. If you are building a range, pick two weights — one around 180–200gsm for volume, one at 220–260gsm for the retail piece — rather than five that compete with each other.
Fabric by fabric, what print does to it
Combed ring-spun cotton takes water-based and discharge prints most predictably, because the yarn is clean and absorbs evenly. Standard 100% cotton is fine for plastisol but shows more fibrillation on dark colours after washing. Waffle knit is the awkward one: the texture means a print sits on peaks, so fine detail breaks up — keep artwork bold or use a patch.
Sorona blend and performance polyester behave like athletic fabric: they take sublimation, hold colour sharply, and do not shrink like cotton, but they will not take discharge. If the design is a soft-hand vintage print, cotton is the base; if it is a full-colour graphic, polyester is.
Price ladder, size surcharge and MOQ
All fourteen styles are priced FOB China in three tiers — 100–299, 300–599 and 600+ pieces — with the per-piece price dropping at each step. Extended sizes carry a surcharge: typically +$0.75 at 2XL, +$1.25 at 3XL and more above that, because fabric consumption per unit rises faster than the price band.
MOQ is 100 pieces per style and colour. Mixing colours within a style is possible but each colour is its own run; mixing sizes is normal and costs nothing beyond the size surcharge. The number that surprises first-time buyers is freight: these are FOB prices, so ocean or air freight, insurance and import duty are added at order stage.
